Our mission is to provide superior-quality, innovative, information technology solutions that help federal agencies best aid, serve, and protect the American people. • Job Title: Gospel Music Director • Location: JBM-HH Memorial Chapel • Job Summary: FAR Group is looking for a successful and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Gospel Director of Music services to support the Gospel Congregation at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall on a weekly basis. • Work schedule: Workdays and hours will vary according to the approved Calendar of Events, Many of the tasks will require holiday, evening, and weekend hours. Performance Requirements: MUSICIANSHIP: Expression: Use of dynamics and range of color for appropriate tone. Style Understanding/Idiomatic Interpretation: demonstrated knowledge of historical and cultural differences in performance style. Phrasing/Articulation: Shaping sound by various means of touch (legato, staccato, etc.) Communication: Ability to connect with and move the listener through performance. Interpretation: Ability to perform with fluidity of expression, style, and phrasing. TECHNIQUE: Rhythmic Control: use of proper and consistent tempo and rhythm for the music. Accuracy: Playing in the correct key, correct notes, chords, etc. Appropriate registration/use of pistons, etc.: using the organ properly for the style of music being performed. Fluid pedal technique: Appropriate understanding of the use of feet for organ performance. Sight-Reading: demonstrating proficiency in at least three styles of musical history such as Baroque, Classical, Romantic, French, Contemporary, etc, and technical proficiency through additional piano or repertoire. Qualification Requirements: Experience: Five years of experience leading church music and ensembles, Experience in contemporary, Gospel, Pentecostal, traditional, hymnic, choral, contemporary Christian, and liturgical musical trends. Certifications: Master's Degree in Church Music, Musical Performance, or related field.
