While performing the general duties of this position, you will be able to interact with our customers, provide advice and answer questions, and engage in friendly conversation as they shop in our stores. Other duties of this position include: Provide guidance and supervision for all produce clerks. Ensure adequate staffing levels and scheduling of produce department staff. Oversee the store produce department to ensure the highest quality of products and goods, customer service, safety, and cleanliness of the department. Reduce shrink and labor costs while meeting sales quotas. Receive produce and perform inbound quality inspections of all produce received. Train produce department staff to include excellent customer service, proper sanitation and cleanliness of all equipment, appropriate product displays, proper food presentation, and all Food Safety guidelines and procedures. Review operating figures including accuracy of department orders, appropriate produce inventory, gross profits, shrink, wage percentages, and supply costs. All other duties as assigned. Requirements include: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Strong attention to detail. Associates degree in business, retail, or related field preferred. Minimum 1-year supervisory experience in produce or fresh food capacity required.
