Reporting to the Director for Children and Family Services (CFS), the Manager for Internships provides recruitment, leadership, and oversight of cohorts of interns - primarily attaining their master's degree in Social Work with either a clinical or macro focus. The Internship Program Manager is responsible for the overall implementation, oversight, and quality of the internship experience. This role closely collaborates with the CFS Leadership team to ensure day-to-day supervision of the interns and in conjunction with Human Resources establishes new external partnerships with schools across the country building a world class internship program attracting and advancing diverse talent and future leaders. DUTIES Coordinate with HR and CFS leadership to recruit and interview a diverse slate of qualified intern candidates in line with the needs of Children and Family Services Create and implement an onboarding program for CFS interns, including setting expectations for professional behavior and outlining the scope of LIRS' programming. Jointly with the line supervisor, this individual will supervise the CFS intern cohorts and provide clinical supervision when appropriate. Provide opportunities for interns to understand the interplay between their scope of work and the larger organization including facilitating meetings with employees across LIRS for further learning opportunities. Coordinate with the CFS leadership team to set learning plans. In conjunction with CFS leadership and HR deepen partnerships with existing Colleges and Universities and onboard new schools with a focus on schools serving underrepresented communities such as HBCU's and Hispanic Serving Institutions. Plan intern cohort meetings, opportunities for professional development, networking events and social activities. Establish connections with field coordinators at schools across the U.S. promoting internships as well as entry level positions which may be available across the organization. Pitch the LIRS internship program and other career opportunities with LIRS at job fairs and other on-campus events. Coordinate with HR to facilitate the implementation of an intern to full time employee pipeline through the internship experience and exposure to various professional opportunities. Create and engage an LIRS internship alumni group. Engage in ongoing professional development by attending seminars or conferences; contribute best practices for internship and entry level hiring and employee engagement. Participate in agency-wide activities and initiatives including all-staff meetings, working groups or task forces and implementation of strategic initiatives. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in social work and independent licensure (LCSW-C). Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience. Experience working with diverse client populations; experience working with immigrants and refugees preferred. Experience with college recruiting and knowledge of academic social work and internship programs preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to organize tasks effectively and execute new programs or initiatives. Deep commitment to LIRS' core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners. Special Position Requirements Must be able to pass an FBI background check as well as a CA/N check for every state in which they have resided in the last five years. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
