Job Title: Wireline Operator Reports To: Gyro Supervisor Overtime Paid: Yes Location: Odessa Texas Job Status: Full Time Dept. Name: Wireline Level/Wage Range: Grades 1-4 / 13-17 hr Dept. Number: 32 Driver License Class A or B Duties and Responsibilities Act as liaison between company and customer at rig locations Plan and perform rig site operations and troubleshoot field problems, on both onshore locations Ensure required equipment is on-site and fully functional and in an operational condition Responsible for mechanics of the wireline unit - use basic knowledge to carry out repairs and maintenance of the engine and unit as required Ensure wireline unit is prepared, checked, certified and conforms with company policies and customer requirements Assist in function testing, assembly and preparation of associated equipment Ensure company QA policy and recommended operating procedures are followed and adhered to in operation of all company equipment Carry out all work in a safe manner and in accordance with company and client policy and national legislation Ensure that all permit requirements / risk assessments are completed in line with customer requirements. Assist in training of new staff where appropriate Perform other relevant duties as requested/required by survey engineer on location and management team onshore This role is graded according to levels of competence, and more senior grades have responsibility for supervising junior engineers in offshore settings Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Operate company-specific software Ability to comprehend technical concepts Ability to work under pressure and cope with harsh environmental conditions Learns quickly and adapts to new problems and situations. Ability to multi-task. Education, Experience, Certification and Training HS Diploma Required Mechanical background required. Previous oilfield experience would be an advantage but not essential. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure all personal certification is up-to-date and kept in accordance with current legislation Work Environment , Physical Job Requirements and PPE Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, crawl, twist, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 70 lbs and over, perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle and operate motor equipment. Conditions include working inside and outside in all types of weather. Working around moving objects, moving vehicles and machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended or irregular hours and travelling by all possible modes of transportation. Working environment may include but not limited to excessive, intermittent or constant noise, fumes, smoke, gases, grease, dust, oils and solvents. Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, forklift, pallet jack, hand tools, power tools, air tools, telephone, and automobile.
