Hiring Range: $80,000-$85,000 Pos i tion D e s c ri p t i o n : The Finance Manager position is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze UMOM financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and ensure UMOM's accounting control procedures. This position will also assist the Director of Finance in the month-end closing process, preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliations, the annual budget process, and audits. E s sen ti a l Du t i e s a n d Re s p o n s i b i li t i e s: Prepares and analyzes financial reports in an accurate and timely manner. Clearly communicates results of financial analysis to program managers and executive leadership. Maintains calendar of reporting requirement due dates to ensure all deadlines are met. Reconciles all general ledger accounts as required. Backs up Payroll Accountant as needed and ensure confidentiality of all payroll information. Assists the Director of Finance with the preparation of the annual budget. Prepares audit schedules, interacts with auditors, and provides information as requested for annual agency audit. Achieves the Finance Department's operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Guides departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and makes recommendations. Responsible for understanding grant rules and regulations and maintaining billing compliance. Drafts monthly, quarterly, and annual billings, progress reports and other required reports related to government, corporate and foundation grants. Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls. Produces multiple bank reconciliations. Qu a l i fi ca t i o n and Competency Requirements : Experience and Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred Minimum 5 years of accounting and/or general business experience required, with at least 3 years of experience in relevant roles (e.g. accounting/finance) Minimum 3 years of experience in financial statement preparation and complex general ledger analysis required Knowledge of non-profit/social sector; experience working with grant and fund accounting is a plus Computer skills Proficiency with applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook MIP Advance software or similar platform Compliance Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one. This position is typically performed in an interior, environmentally controlled office setting. The duties of the job require extended periods of time being stationary and manipulating a computer (keyboard, monitor, mouse), and other standard office equipment including, but not limited to: printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals. This position allows for a flexible hybrid model working from home or in office, as needed for operations.
