Role Title: Veterinary Technician: ER Float Department: Emergency Critical Care Shift: Evening Shift - 5:00pm - 1:00am. Four days per week. 32 hrs/week = Full Time Benefits Eligible. Schedule: This schedule is a Fixed schedule, working Monday - Thursday. This position requires participation in the ER Support Staff On Call program, in which you will be scheduled to be on call every other weekend from 5pm-1am. This position will primarily be scheduled at our Oakdale Specialty clinic location. Opportunities to work at the St. Paul clinic may be required on occasion, or when called in during an on-call shift. Compensation: Hourly, dependent on skills, education, credentials, and other factors. Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance provided at up to 80% covered by AERC. Short-Term, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and EAP are provided at no additional cost to you. PTO accrual based on tenure. Uniform, Pet, and CE stipends are available, and more. Shift Differential: Eligible ($4/hr on top of base hourly wage). Relocation Assistance: Eligible, up to $2,000. Exact assistance is determined based on multiple factors, to be discussed at the time of interview(s). The primary function of the Veterinary Technician is to provide exceptional care of both patients and clients by serving as an extension of the veterinarian. Additionally, the Veterinary Technician is expected to promote professional growth through education and learning opportunities. Your Skills & Experiences. Who are we looking for? You possess the knowledge to triage phone calls, review medical plans, perform financial transactions, and discharge patients leaving the hospital in addition to your typical technical skills and abilities. Patient Care Skills can be taught. We value training and professional development. You will be provided with a minimum of 16 training shifts before you're set free to save lives. These training shifts will be both on the floor, and classroom based, working closely with individuals from our professional development training team. When you succeed, we all succeed. You will be comfortable with the basic tasks such as IVC placement, venipuncture, bloodwork (CBC/Chem/UA) and performance of x-rays and sedated procedures. If you have advanced skills such as central line placement, urinary catheterization, critical nursing, pharmacology, physiology, and advanced imaging, you will bring a wealth of knowledge to our motivated and education-hungry team.
