Job Description: We are looking for an exceptional individual with an interest in contributing to the growth in our commercial wood working environment. He/She will serve as the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic for the Facility Maintenance at Open Plan Systems in Richmond, VA. They will be responsible for installing, repairing, overhauling, and maintaining equipment (ie: air compressors, air dryers, plumbing systems, welding, light forklift repairs and tool changes on manufacturing machinery) and performing other related tasks supporting site maintenance and services. He/She will follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adheres to all appropriate Open Plan Systems Standard operating procedures (SOP) and environmental, health safety and company related policies. Requirements: Perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) checks and services on compressed air systems, and CPU-related equipment, singularly or as a team with other trades as assigned. Locates information in operator equipment manuals. Effectively communicates and coordinate the shutdown of equipment for maintenance. Performs routine PM tests in between scheduled PM actions to check for proper operations of CPU-related equipment Services and repairs CPU equipment, compressed air systems, and critical piping throughout the facility like drains, water lines, steam, condensate. Follows Open Plan Systems SOP; CPU-related manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications; and safe practices. Communicates effectively with co-workers and supervises the status and concerns of critical equipment. Troubleshoots various CPU equipment such as plumbing equipment, compressed air systems, air dryers and building automation systems Troubleshoots defective relays, controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and other components Works together as a team with other trades as assigned. Able to assist other groups in bringing failed equipment back on line. Performs other duties as requested including but not limited to driving company vehicles to off-site locations to obtain parts. All Job Requirements: Able to learn quickly, think independently and make sound decisions. Experience with AutoCAD Structured, must be able to organize the flow and direction of multiple forms of communication. Time management skills; an ability to juggle multiple tasks; self motivated, creative, results oriented, flexible and resourceful, with little to no direct supervision. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Plumbing, mechanical or welding experience Valid Driver's License Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing Woodworking machinery a plus Skills and Abilities: Strong hands on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is a must.
