***IN-PERSON JOB FAIR*** When: April 27 , 2023 Time: 4pm to 8pm Location: 950 S Oyster Bay Rd, Hicksville, NY 11801 ****Please copy and paste the following link into your internet browser to REGISTER TODAY and for more information: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1wRpLhuSwFWttIh_VkynkftYu0oOtx59lF5qimYYEbVc/ JOB DEFINITION: Work with the CN Guidance Youth ACT Team to deliver services to those individuals and their identified families who are diagnosed with severe emotional disturbance (SED) and whose needs have not been met by more traditional service delivery approaches. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a role model for recipients and/or their identified families Educate recipients and/or their identified families about self-help techniques and self-help group processes. Teach effective coping strategies to recipients based upon personal experience. Teach symptom management skills and assist in clarifying rehabilitation and recovery goals. Assist families with developing community connections and naturals supports to enhance the quality of life by integration and support for families in their own communities as well as helping the family to rediscover and reconnect to natural supports already present in their lives Helps the family learn and practice strategies to support their child's positive behavior assisting the family to implement strategies recommended by clinicians Provides individual or group parent skill development related to the behavioral health needs of the child (i.e., training on special needs parenting skills). Facilitate sharing of data with the individuals to whom it applies to facilitate partnered decisionmaking and to keep clients informed of progress Complete QI Training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed. Work with the entire CN Guidance team to apply the Plan-Do-Study-ACT continuous quality improvement approach to address systemic, organizational challenges Facilitate sharing of data with the individuals to whom it applies to facilitate partnered decisionmaking and to keep clients informed of progress Complete QI Training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed. Other duties and assignments as requested by the Team Leader. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma preferred. A credential recognized by the Office of Mental Health and receive specialized training and supervision preferred, or required to be acquired within 6 months of employment. Parent or Caregiver who has lived experience with the challenges of raising (or has raised) a child with serious mental health concerns and is personally familiar with the associated challenges and available community resources.
