Join the team and enjoy: Competitive wages Flexible schedules Employee Meal Discounts Health Benefits Retirement Savings Position Summary: The Sous Chef will be working with the Culinary Management Team to ensure that the kitchen is ready for service every day, to provide support to the staff and maintain a positive work environment. As the Sous Chef, you will exemplify the Company's Core Values through your daily interactions with guests, team members, and the community. Essential Duties & Responsibilities, the essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Assist the Chef de cuisine in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, preparation and production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulation, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability Follow all food safety guidelines. Assist in train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation based on Company and regulatory standards. Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas. Ensure that kitchen staff follows and completes schedules as assigned. Maintain inventory of food and non-food supplies to stay within established guidelines while assuring that necessary product is available when needed.Understanding of all food safety guidelines and the ability to run a very clean kitchen. Assisting Ability to execute and ensure the kitchen team members also execute company cooking standard, processes, and procedures Assisting place accurate food orders Assist with Organizes daily shifts, breaks and positions Performing portion controls, temperature and quality of favor with all food Ability to understand daily usage numbers Making periodic and regular inspections of units to observe quality of food preparation and service, food appearance, and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment and team member appearance Ability to follow recipes and portion specifications in accordance with consumer tastes, nutritional needs, product specifications, ease of preparation, and established procedures and budgetary constraints Expert multi-talker, perform to high standard in in a fast paced kitchen environment Performing other work-related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Three (3) years progressive experience in high volume food production or catering One (1) year of management experience Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience considered Ability to work in high-stress, fast paced environment Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred Ability to read tickets Experience in all stations: grill, sautee, fryer, garde manger Be hands on and lead by example. Make a difference every day. Knowledge of California labor laws and other human resource processes. A genuine passion for the hospitality industry. High energy, outgoing and exemplifies the B&B vibe and energy Ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively Exceptional leadership skills Successful completion of management food safety program is helpful Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required Strong communication skills to train and motivate team members Guest service minded to ensure consistent execution of food for every guest availability pms and weekends work sunday mondays
