Easterseals is seeking an individual for a unique, internship opportunity! Come join us in a supportive business environment with meaningful assignments, gaining hands on knowledge, that will allow you to participate in development opportunities along with social activities and more! Principle Accountabilities: Assist with auction by securing auction items, ensuring database is updated and staging auction items. Communicate Easterseals Iowa's vision, mission, and values to public. Assist with stewardship of current and potential donors including special event attendees, former counselors, volunteers, and others. Attend and participate in Development meetings Support special event planning activities such as pre-event item pick up and drop off, contacting vendors, organizing set up plans, etc. Work with volunteers to schedule/projects and manage volunteer experience. Attend and support functions of the development department. Represent Easterseals Iowa at public events as needed. Other duties as assigned. Excellence: Identifies solutions, ask questions for clarity and understanding, professional in dress and interactions. Develops relationship with volunteers, documents preferences and connectivity of the mission in Raiser's Edge. Stewardship: Thanks donors and volunteers. Welcoming in actions to all stakeholders. Takes care of equipment and work area. Identifies opportunities to increase efficiencies and make recommendations to the team. Philanthropy: Shares mission and success with network. Invites network to participate in special events, volunteering and giving. U Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work cooperatively with community, team members in a professional and concerned manner Self-starter and ability to work independently An understanding of and belief in philanthropy Basic fundraising and marketing principles and practices Attention to detail Ability to work as efficiently as an individual while working flexibly, cooperatively, and positively in a team environment Desire to network and the ability to speak compellingly about Easterseals Iowa Excellent record-keeping skills Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy Access to telephone for on-call system and to work non-traditional office hours, including evenings and weekends Excellent oral and written skills Volunteer management skills Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Programs, Raiser's Edge Access to reliable transportation for work-related travel Possession of valid Iowa Driver's License and maintenance of good driving record. Insurable under Easterseals Iowa vehicle insurance policy Schedule for this internship would be business office hours, with 10-15 hours per week although flexible. We would love potential applicants to work through our upcoming event on June 8th, 2023. We're also willing to work with individuals who may need to meet certain hours for a particular program. Pay starts at $14.75 per hour. This position requires potential employees to complete a background check and driving record check. Application process consists of 1st phone interview with Recruitment Coordinator before scheduling a 2nd Team Leader interview.
