We are hiring educational Licensed Nursing Assistants with a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 7 am to 3 pm, 40 hours per week! Competitive pay that is based on experience. One-to-One staffing for our students makes it possible to help each child reach their full potential. We use the "Unique Learning System" to deliver high-quality curriculum through many technologies such as iPads, Smart Boards, switches, and communication devices. Reports to: Director of Special Education Base Rate: $ 18.00 per hour with LNA ___________________________________________________________________________ PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the classroom teacher in implementing the educational program Implements specific components of individual children's programs as assigned Assists students to participate in group activities within the classroom setting Monitors students' response(s) to programming and modifies program, as recommended by the teacher (and in collaboration with classroom teacher) Assists students with oral motor, meal time, and snack routines as recommended by the therapy department Assists students with personal care as is a part of their programs Lifts, transfers, and/or positions children according to the facility guidelines Assists in implementing recommendations of related service providers as assigned Participates in classroom field trips and other outings into the community Assists in maintaining a positive and safe classroom environment May be asked to serve as substitute teacher 2. Provides support services to the education program Participates in classroom planning, team meetings, and departmental meetings Works cooperatively with other classroom staff, rehab staff, and nursing staff Documents and maintains all required data and progress notes Documents student attendance, as required Assists in preparing classroom materials Reports observations and students' responses to classroom teacher and then to other appropriate team members 3. Assists in the management of student's medical needs in the classroom in accordance with the LNA job description Monitors child's medical status as required, reporting any significant medical changes to the charge nurse Starts and disconnects tube feedings as necessary Assists in the management of student's medical needs as requested by the nursing staff Reports and documents splint/brace use, stander/equipment use, mealtime and snack intake, school attendance, school recreational activities, voiding, bowel elimination, temperature, seizures, and other indicators as requested by nursing or therapy staff PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required. Current licensure as a LNA required. Graduate of Associate Degree program preferably in Education or PT or OT Assistant or two years of experience preferred.
