Welder Job Description Assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components, melting the metal into shape Job Duties 1. Reading and understanding blueprints 2. Sourcing the materials and spare parts ( ie . welding, iron, oxygen, pipes, etc.) 3. Measuring and cutting materials to specifications 4. Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together 5. Installing Equipment 6. Making metal parts for equipment 7. Welding maintenance of heavy equipment 8. Welding maintenance of the plant structure 9. General welding works to ensure proper plant functioning 10. Daily inspection of plant structure of equipment to ensure proper functioning 11. Daily inspection of welding equipment to ensure proper functioning 12. Carries out cleaning activities and mineral collection
