Description:
Position Title: Nurse Reports To: Director of Health and Nutrition Classification: Full Time / Non-Exempt Status: Hourly Range: $24.11 - $27.62 per hour Summary/Objective: This position provides health services and support to children, families, and staff to ensure compliance of Head Start Performance Standards and the State of Michigan Licensing Rules and Regulations. All tasks are considered essential except those identified as non-essential. Essential Functions: Assists in coordinating, monitoring, and supporting the delivery of the health, safety, and nutrition services for the Head Start Program. Assists in monitoring each participants status with relation to Early and Periodic screen, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) requirements including follow up services. Supports staff and families in obtaining needed services. Assists in monitoring data entry for health information for the Head Start programs to ensure its accuracy and efficacy. Assists in the development of individualized health care plans. Performs and monitors required health screenings. Integrate health education in the Head Start program by providing training and resources for staff and families. Participates in the Staffing of Students meetings, as needed. Completes reports and documentation on a regular basis. Participates in the collection and analysis of the data for the Program Information Report. Assists in facilitating and coordinating the Health Services Advisory Committee Attends Agency and community meetings as requested. Conducts a self-evaluation and works consistently to improve own job performance & develops Individual professional development goals annually. Communicates regularly and works cooperatively with all staff. Always maintains confidentiality. Respects and promotes the unique identity of each child and family, and refrains from stereotyping on basis of gender, race, ethnicity, culture, religion, or disability. Ensures compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations. Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Executive Director.
