Resettlement Caseworker

Description:
Resettlement Caseworkers walk along aside refugees as they transition to their new homes and navigate the path to self-sufficiency. The International Institute's Client Care Services in Springfield include case management services to assist refugee(s) with housing, basic needs, cultural orientation, English as a Second Language class, school enrollment, access to health care, employment services, and referrals to community-based programs. Duties/Responsibilities Providing culturally competent equitable client services with minimal supervision. Assisting program participant to develop an individualize Resettlement Plans and Ongoing Self-sufficiency Plans to determine barriers, strengths, and goals Complete required program activities in a timely manner for clients. Participating in and facilitating client cultural orientations Aiding program participants individualized job searches, job application, resumes, and interviews Documenting daily case notes, services, referrals, job placement and 90-day follow-ups. Providing ongoing support to program participants to meet long term education and career goals Attending all agency and grant-related meetings as directed Performing other appropriate duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Ability to prioritize, effectively manage multiple projects concurrently, and take ownership of work Ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently and as part of a team as necessary. Ability to maintain confidentiality of organization information. Must be meticulous, but able to maintain a balanced perspective in rapidly changing business circumstances Ability to work productively in a multicultural environment and demonstrate respect for differences Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365 Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to approach and resolve problems in a detail and solution-oriented manner. Other Must have a car and a valid driver's license with proof of insurance Willing to acquire a class E driver's license and drive a shuttle or van. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Social Work or relevant Human Service field required or equivalent experience in social services or other relevant area Linguistic ability in one of the following languages: Ukrainian, Russian, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Dari, Pashto or Chin preferred The above statements describe the job's essential responsibilities and requirements.
