The Summer General Laborer will receive adequate training to work in Fabrication, Weld or Assembly Departments. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: General Laborers will follow instructions from higher-level employees, they must listen attentively and then use their speaking skills to ask questions or explain what they are doing. They need the manual dexterity to use tools and factory machines, the physical strength to lift and move heavy equipment, and the stamina to remain on their feet for most of their shift. Time management is helpful in organizing work and finishing it on schedule, and good interpersonal skills. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS: Knowledge of how products are made Mechanical knowledge of designing and controlling of equipment Read and understand written information Identify problems, review information and use math skills to solve problems Many tasks include their own work and/or the review of work of others in the department.
