Maintenance Mechanic Reports to: Maintenance Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary This position is responsible for ensuring the continuous functionality of all production equipment. Essential Responsibilities: Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on all production equipment and machinery. Perform emergency repairs on all production equipment and machinery. Conform to all procedures regarding spare parts usage. Perform repairs and maintenance according to any and all OSHA and other safety requirements, i.e.: lockout/tagout. Perform all maintenance and repairs in an accurate, complete and timely manner. Maintain mechanical availability of all production equipment. Maintain mechanical availability of all facility equipment. Other Important Responsibilities: Maintain a daily log of Preventive Maintenance and downtime through Computerized Maintenance Management System, Simplicity CMMS Maintain a daily work log and EOD/end of day email report to Upper management. Assist the Parts Inventory Clerk with proper specs and info when sourcing parts for repairs and regular maintenance. Work with outside contractors during routine maintenance and emergency repairs. Timely Corrective Action response and resolution to relevant situations. As required, will install new equipment, facility upgrades, perform repair work as needed and support production. Engage and support companywide Safety and Cleanliness Programs. As part of the EMS- Environment Management System, will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the company's recycling guidelines, proper waste and other environmental performance practices Will be required to perform other job functions, as assigned Required Skills and Competencies: Minimum 7-10 years of experience. Electrical, Mechanical, Welding, Electro-Mechanical and equipment training, a plus. High School Graduate required. Vocational Degree Preferred. Experience with a virtual work order and spare parts management system preferred. Strong analytical skills. Task oriented excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load. Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, professional demeanor, self-motivated, creative and innovative. Physical qualifications and work environment: Must be able to lift 70 lbs. Must be able to sustain physical work for 8+ hours on a standard 3 shift operation or 12+ hours per day on 24/7 operation. Also includes the following: Standing Reaching and pulling Sight Walking through shop Bending, climbing and crouching. Office environment is of moderate noise level. Shop noise levels are such that protective ear-coverings are recommended. Sometimes subject to external weather conditions. Short notice, overtime demand according to equipment or facility breakdowns. Repair work on heavy equipment often in a seated or standing position. Grease, oil, water exposure. Mechanics must provide all industry required hand tools and tool box. Checklist will be provided. All specialty tools will be provided by CompoSecure.
