POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Event Coordinator or Branch Director, the Birthday Party / Event Staff facilitates birthday parties and organized groups in the Kid's Gym and surrounding areas. Their role is to ensure the safety of the group while delivering a fun and active event for all participantsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.2. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.3. Set up, clean up, and ensure the proper care of all materials used for the event, recognizing that assistance may be sought from other YMCA staff members to accomplish this4. Attends staff meetings and trainings.5. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.6. Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.7. Prepare and carry out scheduled activities pertaining to the assigned area/activity.YMCA COMPETENCIES (Leader):Mission Advancement: Accepts and demonstrates the Y's values. Must be at least 18 years of age.2. Minimum 1 year experience working with children under 12 years of age.3. Successfully complete the YMCA Child Abuse Prevention Training and Employee Sexual Harassment Training and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Trainings before employment.4. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required within 60 days of employment provided by GLOW YMCA.5. Ability to effectively coordinate and lead group activities that are age appropriate for the group.This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities
