Description:
Building Maintenance Technician - supervises the repair and maintenance of buildings and mechanical equipment. Duties/Responsibilities: Oversees the day to day operations of the maintenance department. Evaluates systems and facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed. Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules. Develops maintenance procedures and schedules. Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Maintain OSHA safety regulations throughout the facilities. Knowledge of Environmental Health/Safety guidelines according to the MADEP Experience in acquiring Permits and Equipment installation HVAC Ability to follow instructions but also work with minimal supervision Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. At least three years of experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend and crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
