Position Title: H/R Generalist Location: Monroe, NC Reports to: H/R Manager Company Overview: Instrument Transformer Equipment Corporation (ITEC) is a leading provider of standard and custom engineered top quality instrument transformers. These are built to provide long term service and high accuracy in utility applications of metering and protection. The business is located in Monroe, NC (suburb of Charlotte, NC) and is self-contained (engineering, front office, and production and EHV testing all on one site). ITEC is part of Power Grid Holding, a growth platform that is acquiring domestic transmission & distribution supply companies who serve electric utility and large industrial customers. ITEC is in growth mode, having just invested in a new state of the art high voltage test field which will enable product line expansion. We're searching for a qualified and resourceful Human Resources Generalist to support our Leadership Team in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The Human Resources Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities and will be responsible for important functions such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits. At ITEC, we understand that our business thrives when our employees thrive. Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to: Recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience. Handle administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Be the primary backup for payroll processing, including weekly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, vacation/sick pay, expense, reimbursements, hourly-employee validations, and benefits changes. Communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook. Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations. Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements. Administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs. Suggest new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of HR department and company. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, and anti-harassment training. Required skills and qualifications: Bachelor's degree (or work equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field. Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail. Knowledge of national laws and regulations related to employment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness. Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies. Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary.
