Cathedral School of Saint Mary is seeking a summer camp instructor for the months of June and July. Job Summary The Cathedral School of Saint Mary in Austin, TX is accepting applications for our Summer School Program! The program has engaging weekly themes, learning activities for all ages, and opportunities for structured and free play. We are seeking an energetic, organized, responsible, and dynamic teacher who enjoys teaching children (ages ranging from 4-11) to join our summer team. This position will allow you the ability to be creative while engaging children in fun and exciting theme-based developmentally age-appropriate activities. Responsibilities: Engage and supervise children (aged 4-11) in structured learning activities Follow through on an established routine and pre-planned learning activities Monitor children during all activities including meal times, structured play, and free play Help coordinate and supervise students on weekly field trips or onsite special events Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school. Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school. Provide appropriate material and resources for students to engage in learning. Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom. Maintain current and accurate records according to school policies. Skills Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church Knowledge of instructional methods/strategies and curriculum differentiation Able to work well with others in the school community Ability to manage student behavior in classroom setting. Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously Skill in job-appropriate technology Skill in managing conflicts effectively Skill in organizational management and delegation of responsibilities Minimum Qualifications Experience: 1 - 3 years: working with school-age children Certifications and Training: Valid Texas driver's license. Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period. Must meet the minimum requirements set forth by the Diocese and TCCED.
