Area General Manager - Abner's Famous Chicken Tenders

The Area General Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operations of multiple restaurants. This individual must coach and develop General Managers and front line managers, ensure excellent guest service, maximize sales and profitability, control food and labor costs, meet budgetary goals, and ensure sanitation, safety and food quality. Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned restaurants. Works closely with Director of Operations in implementing company strategies. Ensures quality experiences for all guests. Evaluates and monitors customer service and satisfaction and takes corrective action as needed. Provides leadership for General Managers by encouraging enthusiasm and a positive attitude and a commitment toward company objectives. Monitors food costs and implements strategies to ensure proper portion control, yields, and waste minimization. Monitors quality of products and operations. Participates in weekly or monthly leadership meetings. Supports marketing and promotional campaigns. Recruits, hires, develops, and assists with training and retention of managers and team members. Monitors, evaluates, and enforces safe food handling practices and cleanliness standards. Monitors maintenance requirements of stores, including care and upkeep of equipment, building and grounds. Completes evaluations on managers. Meets with the Director of Operations regularly to discuss financial results, customer satisfaction, employee relations issues, staffing issues, company culture issues, and any other relevant topic. Completes other duties as assigned. Competencies Strong leadership and coaching skills. Ability to articulately and effectively present information and initiatives. Demonstrated ability to plan and organize restaurant operations through the use of delegation skills. Broad knowledge of restaurant operations. Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities. Supervisory Responsibility This position is responsible for the supervision and oversight of General Managers, Assistant Managers, and Associate Managers. Work Environment This job operates in a restaurant environment, including a kitchen which is housed with equipment such as an oven, stove, cooler, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef's knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, cold and noise. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.This position requires standing and walking 95% of workday with considerable movement throughout shift. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with an average of 50 hours per week expected. Days and hours of work fluctuate including nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel Travel between assigned locations is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience At least 3-5 years' experience in a restaurant management role. At least 2-4 year experience scheduling and managing labor. Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel) and general office equipment. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
