JOB SUMMARY: The Food Runner is responsible for communicating orders, questions and service needs with servers, and bartenders. Check in with and anticipate the guest's service needs. Complete daily opening, closing and/or running side work. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, proper table set up and develop positive guest relations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to follow company standard steps of service. Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/section numbers, proper table set ups, hours of operation, dress code and other standard operational information. Ability to check quality of food produced by the culinary team, grab, put down, and cover dishes. Must have the ability to provide legible communication and compute basic math calculations. Must have the ability to individually lift plates. Must have the ability to garnish and check prepared food as it is placed in the window before going out to the floor for guests. Maintain and comply with all company policies and procedures. Work with the team to maintain a hazard free work environment. Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager, complete safety training and certifications, maintain company confidentiality. Must have the ability to communicate any needs, issues, or necessary help to his co-workers. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Any other reasonable task as requested by supervisors. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have excellent attention to detail. Previous hospitality, restaurant and/or hotel experience is preferred.
