Job Overview: Sanford Federal is looking for a qualified constant observation technician to support the mission of the Pittsburg VA Healthcare System. Job Details: Job Title: Constant Observation Technician (COT)/Sitters Location : VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS UD Division, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240 Schedule: Full-time & Part-time option. Requirements & Skills: SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail Ability to organize workload and use effective time management Ability to work effectively in a team environment Basic knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity, race, gender, and others individual differences in the workplace Must have CPR certification Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities: Assists in maintaining a healthful, safe environment Keeps the hospital client in constant eye contact during entire assigned shift Assists the client with ambulating by providing stand by assistance Follows universal precautions whenever giving any aspect of client care Responds to the physical, emotional and developmental needs of the patient Follows emergency procedures in the event of any incident, accident, injury, or significant changes in the patient' condition Reports any changes in patient's mental or physical condition, suspicion of ingesting questionable substances, or items brought to the room by visitors to the staff nurse May provide non-medical personal care, light housekeeping, laundry, and prepare small meals for residents and patients as needed Contributes to positive team spirit Why choose Sanford Federal?
