Scope of Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be able to teach/coach the sport and will be a follower of Christ. Applicants should have either prior experience as a head coach at the middle school, high school, or recreational level or experience as an assistant coach at one of those levels. General Responsibilities: Head Coaches will take ownership/stewardship of their facility in order to assure cleanliness, proper use, and a proper attitude toward the facility by student athletes using it under their supervision. Each head coach will collect and inventory uniforms at the end of the season. All Coaches will be required to attend in-service meetings each year. All Coaches are expected to uphold and support the SCS school philosophy and athletic philosophy. All Coaches are expected to know and enforce the Athletic Handbook. All Coaches are required to complete the NFHS online courses that are required by the SCHSL. These courses need to be completed prior to the first day of practice. All Coaches are required by the SCHSL to complete CPR certification prior to the first day of practice. All Coaches are to be aware of general SCHSL guidelines and those related to their particular sport. Head Coaches are responsible for gaining prior approval from the athletic department (AD or AAD's) for any orders for the sport. Head Coaches are responsible for having their team in the strength training center. All Coaches should have a strong desire and ability to disciple young people.. Be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and be in agreement with the philosophies, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School. Must be a member in good standing and active in a protestant, evangelical church. Must be a person with proven spiritual, moral, and leadership qualities, and be capable of developing a strong rapport with fellow coaches and student athletes.
