CPC is seeking candidates for our Head Start Teacher position. Benefits include... New hire incentive payment of one thousand five hundred dollars, paid in two installments. Eligibility for health, paid dental, and paid vision coverage. 401(k) plan, with 3% match. 19 Paid Holidays 5 Paid Days Off Tuition Reimbursement. Summers off with benefit premiums paid. (Teacher roles only.) Pay differential for bilingual staff. Summary : This teacher promotes the children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, as well their individual goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop and maintain a clean, safe and positive classroom environment that facilitates respect, active learning, group management, self-expression, cultural responsibility, and child-initiated learning. Promote and reinforce parent involvement. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals, including children, families, co-workers, and staff in related agencies and the general public. Plan and prepare for developmentally appropriate learning activities for children, in accordance with the program curriculum. Follow a consistent schedule, providing student-centered planned activities that include small and large group interactive learning experiences for children. Prepare classroom materials prior to the children's arrival to support developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Conduct parent conferences and home visits to share and gain information on children's progress, needs, and interests. Facilitate parent cooperative learning in working with their children. Effectively direct and mentor assistant teachers in planning and delivering hands-on learning experiences for children. EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Minimum requirements: Associate's Degree and 2 years' experience in related field. Preferred: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Early Childhood, Child and Family Studies or Elementary Education plus one-year related work experience with preschool children.
