Job Summary The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain in Wilmington, VT is currently seeking Certified Ski Instructors to join our team for the 2022-2023 winter season. Minimum 10 Day commitment, competitive compensation, and flexible scheduling. Pay Rates: $60.00/hr - Examiner/National Team $55.00/hr - DEV/ETS $50.00/hr - Level 3 $35.00/hr - Level 2 + ADDITIONAL INCENTIVES FOR MULTIPLE CERTIFICATIONS (CS, FS, Multi Discipline) +15% AUTO GRATUITY PER LESSON! The Hermitage Club is a Private 501.c7 non-profit social club and ski area. We are 100% focused on the heritage and lifestyle of skiing and riding, and value skilled instructors who share that vision. Our Instructor compensation recognizes that every lesson should be taught as if it's a Requested Private Lesson, and the years of education and dedication required to attain top level certification contributes to creating a lifelong passion for skiing and snowboarding. Job Tasks/Responsibilities After an orientation period and on-the-job-training, the successful candidate will be expected to; Provide a learning environment that is safe and fun utilizing various teaching methods, techniques, and demonstrations in a variety of weather conditions. Clearly and accurately provide instruction for our teaching staff using physical demonstration, verbal communication. Assisting in professional and personal development of skiing staff. Able to take groups of staff members of varying abilities and move safely and efficiently down the mountain while training. Working within the policy and procedures of the Hermitage Club. Must be up to date with current trends within the teaching/coaching community. Job Requirements Required to be an active and provide proof of PSIA-AASI and/or USSA certified instructor. Required to pass a background check and work with children Required to be fluent in English, both verbal and written. Required to be able to communicate effectively to groups, individuals, guests, and co-workers Required to work well in a team environment Required to work weekends and holidays Required to be willing to adhere to Hermitage Members Club policy for wearing an approved helmet at all times while teaching. Physical Demands & Work Environment Required to be able to sit, stand, kneel, walk, and ski/snowboard for extended periods of time Required to be able to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds Required to work and teach effectively outside in inclement weather in a winter alpine environment.
