FT - $19/hr Who we need: The Stop Now and Plan Program serves children ages 6-11 years old experiencing serious behavioral problems. This program helps children and their parents learn how to effectively manage their emotions and keep problems small. This is done through a 13-week group based curriculum for youth and their parents. The Stop Now and Plan facilitator is responsible for administering the Stop Now and Plan curriculum to the parent or child group. The facilitator must attend the 5-day core SNAP training. In addition, before group begins, the facilitator will assist in gathering intake paperwork and performing assessments on Stop Now and Plan (SNAP) families, meeting the families in the home or at a pre-determined community location of the family's choosing. What you get: Salary : $19.00 per hour Hours: 40 hours - Flexible Monday-Thursday (10:30am-6:30pm / 12:00pm-8:00pm) + Friday (8am-5pm) occasional Saturday as needed Benefits : offered to those who meet eligibility requirements Primary Duties / Responsibilities: This position will be working in both Manatee and Pinellas Counties Attend the 5-day core SNAP training (free, provided by Florida Network of Youth and Family Services). Participate in the intake and assessment process Adapts the values of the SNAP program and works to implement the SNAP curriculum in accordance to SNAP programming. Completes intake assessments for SNAP Girls and Boys including all required assessments associated in the intake process. Facilitates SNAP curriculum with enthusiasm and consistency. Completes staff training as required by SNAP. Participates in pre briefing and debriefing meetings weekly with other SNAP Team members. Willing to travel to both Manatee and Pinellas locations as needed. Works under the supervision of the SNAP Coordinator and participates in staff meeting as required. Must be willing to be recorded during group facilitation. Must be willing and be able to work four evenings per week. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required, with emphasis in areas of psychology, social work or related field. Minimum of three years' experience working with youth and their families. Well versed in cognitive behavior modification and structured group and parent education modalities. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Must demonstrate awareness acceptance, and willingness to work with the LGBTQ population. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals. Ability to demonstrate active listening, validation and patience in a group setting. Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills. Valid Florida's driver's license Background compliant with requirements of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Must be, or become, PAT trained. Must possess a cellular phone to be used for agency business. Physical Requirements: The ability to lift 15 pounds regularly. The ability to hear and respond quickly to sounds. Close, distance and peripheral vision Frequent standing and/or sitting. Other physical demands that are required are as follows: frequent standing, sitting, stooping and/or kneeling and reaching
