Amida is currently looking for a Vice President of Business Development to join our team in Washington DC. Reporting directly to the COO, you will have the experience to further scale Amida's growth within federal government departments and agencies. You will be responsible for identification, development, qualification, and prioritization of new opportunities across the VA, civilian, and defense health agencies as well as select state and local government opportunities. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the federal sales rhythms and be able to lead Amida's efforts in winning new business. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop a detailed capture plan for each of the federal agencies targeted Maintain sufficient pipeline volume across all business acquisition process phases to meet targeted quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year proposal submission goals Work with senior leadership on the capture and proposal phases by supporting and monitoring all required actions throughout the bid lifecycle Monitor and manage FedBizOpps opportunities that are appropriate for Amida Regular travel to customer sites Engage with large prime contractors and small business partners to accelerate adoption of Amida's open source data solutions Manage relationship with product companies that can be good partners Improve marketing materials to tailor them to the appropriate federal audiences Help prepare quarterly competitive intelligence and market research opportunities for external seminars/conferences where Amida can extend its thought leadership and brand Required Qualifications: 10+ years of related experience, predominantly in the federal sector (business development, capture, sales, proposal leadership, etc.) with a proven track record of success An understanding of "solution sales" business models (more than pure services) and the ability to create a consistent message across and between data-centric solutions that touch a variety of federal use cases Proven track record of identifying and capturing new business as well as maintaining customer relationships for follow-on or re-compete work Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills Patient, thoughtful leadership skills An understanding of "open source" business models and culture Proven technical knowledge/understanding and ability to work with technical writers to deliver a competitive proposal Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments A high level of attention to detail and the capacity to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment A dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment Prior experience working in a growth company environment to include the ability to wear many hats, pick up new skills quickly and the ability to thrive in a fast paced company with limited infrastructure (on purpose) At Amida, we help solve the biggest challenges in data management.
