Job Summary : AMF Bakery Systems is seeking a driven and results-oriented Operations Manager for our Tucker, GA facility to provide leadership and oversee operations to achieve corporate metrics and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities with a proven track record of managing, motivating, and developing teammates. The ideal candidate will also be ready to play a hands-on role within the purchasing function of the business. This position will be responsible for driving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost across all of the operations functions (purchasing, manufacturing, materials handling, shipping) and will foster an environment of continuous improvement and operational excellence. How you will impact AMF : Manage and control the day-to-day activities of the following sectors of the plant, Manufacturing, Procurement, Materials, and Facilities. Ensure compliance with the company's employment and safety policies. Implement and lead the continuous improvement culture and cost reduction efforts using the tools of the Markel Business System. Play a direct role in purchase order issuance, procurement KPI's, vendor management and quality control. Extensive knowledge and use of D365 ERP and CRM software. Must have the ability to create reports and extract data to analyzing costing and other opportunities on our equipment. Ability to review engineered drawings and BOM's to work with corresponding teams to prevent issues from being passed downstream. Responsible for plant-wide planning of manufacturing and assembly schedules while also ensuring all teammates adhere to it Work as a liaison between engineering and production to address issues that arise on the production floor. Document and create standard work around various new and old processes that effect purchasing, production and shipping. Ability to put together cross-functional teams to help mitigate ongoing issues that affect delivery of our products. You will be aware of local laws and regulations that affect our facility, teammates, and environment. Participate in the development of the overall business strategy of the company and ensure the achievement of operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Work closely with the engineering and installation teams to ensure flawless execution of projects. Provide leadership to teammates; establish goals and objectives, serve as a mentor by providing coaching, career development, and training opportunities, and encourages teamwork and collaboration. What you need to succeed (included, but not limited to) : Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial business management, or finance. 5 Years Experience Strong purchasing background centered around low-volume custom-engineered parts Ability to build a strong, long-lasting relationships with vendors Experience in a supervisory role and conflict resolution skills. Inventory management skills with the ability to research demand usage on critical items to insure minimal disruption of parts in the supply chain Costing analysis abilities to dive into projects and see where the company won and most importantly where we lost for future problem-solving exercises Excellent communication skills and confidence to present to large groups and to the Senior Leadership of the company. Working knowledge of MS Dynamics 365 is a major benefit (the ability to learn it is a must). Strong problem-solving skills. Experience with lean tools such as Kaizen, Problem Solving, A3's, etc. is preferred. Travel 10%, you must be able to travel to customers, suppliers, and sister AMF locations as required.
