Job Description Job Title : Senior Accountant Summary : Senior Accountant to support, develop and improve accounting processes. Ensures the timely and accurate completion of all bank accounting activities including the resolution of problems and continuous improvement in the bank's accounting functions through the development and implementation of procedures (existing and new). This role will be working in a collaborative, team environment for a rapidly growing organization. Wage Type : Exempt Essential Duties & Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties satisfactorily. Perform monthly and year-end financial close functions, including assigned journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations Prepare account reconciliations as assigned, verify accuracy of data, and research exceptions as needed Reconciles general ledger and internal deposit accounts, analyzes financial accounts and prepares journal entries. Assist with audit and examinations Execute and reconcile bi-weekly payroll processes Support the development and execution of new accounting processes Oversees corporate accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable operations Performs accounting operations functions to include Wire Transfer Processing, ACH Processing, and Exception Item Processing. Assist with preparation of Audit sampling package for external and internal Audits. Develops their team, peers, and others. Develops and implements procedures to streamline financial institution accounting procedures. Provide support on multiple projects as assigned by the SVP-Controller or Senior Management as needed. Prepares and sends business correspondence. Carries out responsibilities with professionalism, respect for others, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws Any other duties as assigned. Key Deliverables : Accurate, timely, and efficient reconciliations and closes Mentorship and development of junior team members Project execution Organization al Structure : Reports to : Accounting Manager Education: Bachelor's in Accounting Required Knowledge/Skills : 3 - 5 Years Accounting Large company employment history a plus Financial institution experience a plus General u nderstanding and application of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Strong understanding and application of technology and systems Hig h Proficiency in MS Office & Excel Talents: Result Oriented Process Improvement & Problem Solving Analytical and solution driven Self-Directed with Sound Judgment Highly organized Able to adapt quickly, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize Conceptualization & Business Acumen Exceptional interpersonal skills with internal and external staff Comfortable and successful in a high-paced environment
