Department: Food and Beverage Reports To: Senior Food and Beverage Manager Supervises: Grill Room AM & lunch Servers, Expeditors, Food Runners, Bussers, Hostesses Job Description: To consistently achieve the service and product delivery standards with a high degree of member care and service throughout the Grill Room and to provide an exceptional and memorable guest experience. The Grill Room Manager is responsible for assisting the Senior Food & Beverage Manager and Grill Room Manager with the overall operation of the Grill Room in accordance with Oak Hill Country Club standards. General Requirements: Complies with Oak Hill Country Club's Acorns of Excellence. Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and dressed in accordance with Oak Hill Country Club's appearance standards. Exceptional attention to detail. Anticipate guest and contact needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to concerns and requests. Exceptional communication abilities when interacting/ directing associates, guests, clients and internal departments to build relationships. Able to consistently perform tasks with little direct supervision. Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers. Job Requirements: Exceptional leadership qualities and management techniques to successfully lead their assigned shift. Assists in meeting Grill Room revenue and expense budget goals and manages within budgetary restraints & actively develops processes to increase revenue in the Grill Room. Work in conjunction with the Senior Food and Beverage Manager to create & market Grill Room and events to increase awareness and business. Enhance the overall Breakfast & Lunch experiences in the Grill. Train and monitor all associates' performance to ensure Grill Room is consistently meeting Oak Hill standards. Immediately respond to any guest issues and work with the Senior Food & Beverage Manager to develop action plans to correct continuous issues. Respond to any associate issues and develop action plans to correct continuous issues. Maintain professional relationships with the Membership of Oak Hill in order to facilitate personalized service. Assist in maintaining the dining room reservation system in conjunction with the reception. Plan & execute breakfast & lunch shifts (and occasionally dinner) - including dining room setup and floor plans/ server sections based on anticipated guest count. Set up the Grill for the day & week by planning ahead & getting line-up sheets filled out for the week, special requests fulfilled, and communicating with the houseman any needs for the dining room set up. Inspect dining room daily prior to and at the end of each shift for setup, cleanliness, organization, and maintenance as well as security. Create and implement daily and weekly side work duties list for all servers, runners, and managers in the Grill Room based on season/outdoor seating. Ensure all daily side work is completed and that all cleaning of the dining room and equipment is accomplished according to schedule. Work with the Sous Chef & Chef de Partie to ensure that Front of House and Back of House Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to at all times by all staff. Work with the Senior F&B Manager & Chef di Partie to update, review and print menu changes. Assist in implementing new menu rollouts in accordance with the New Menu Rollout Procedure to ensure that all associates are trained and tested and that all support functions such as Northstar are updated on time. Responsible for Northstar buttons & taking the lead on the system. Participate and conduct daily pre-shift meetings and quarterly department meetings. Write a weekly schedule for all staff, operating within budgeted labor cost guidelines. Actively adjust schedules according to forecasted business levels as necessary. Assist Senior Food & Beverage Manager to hire, train, motivate, retain, discipline, evaluate and supervise the work of Grill Room associates ensuring that that all are complying with Oak Hill Food and Beverage Vision and Values. Develop and continually update and refine training manuals for service to increase the quality of service. Ensure proper care, security, and maintenance of club equipment through proper supervision of associates. Maintain daily housekeeping and maintenance program to include storage and operational areas and associate appearance. Reports any defective areas to Engineering. Able to consistently perform tasks with little direct supervision. Perform administrative duties including daily logs, china/glass/silver inventory, payroll & grats, performance journals and associate reviews. Works with the Purchasing Manager to ensure that par levels of supplies are kept at consistent levels. Orders what is necessary - ie. Crayons, birthday candles, décor etc. Ensure appropriate discipline and coaching of all team members not meeting the Oak Hill Standards and Policies. Must be available for all large club events. Actively manage and be present for all club events, golf outings, and large events when needed. In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your management. Physical Requirements: Must have full availability. Must be able to continuously sit, stand and walk a minimum of 8 hours. Must be able to bend, kneel, push and pull over the course of a shift. All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Oak Hill's appearance standards. Will be occasionally required to perform job functions outdoors and be exposed to sun, heat, humidity and other elements. Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts. Must be 18 years of age. Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work. Must be able to operate Grill Room related equipment. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral. Must be able to periodically lift and carry up to 30 lbs. over the course of a shift. Qualifications: Education: High school or equivalent education required. Four year hospitality degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years as restaurant supervisor or above at an upscale hotel, restaurant or country club. Country club experience strongly preferred. Licenses & Certificates: Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits TIPS or Barcode or related alcohol service certification is preferred Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) membership is preferred.
