Description:
The General Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient and profitable operation of a club with a focus on driving membership sales and customer service. The General Manager will also work closely with and receive direction and guidance from the Operations Director and manager the Fitness Director. The General Manager manages the club staff, which includes; a Fitness Director and team of personal trainers, a team of sales professionals, and group exercise instructors, cleaning team, and babysitters. Key Focus Areas Team performance and effectiveness Member satisfaction and retention Membership sales Profit and loss management and financial results Minimum Requirements Required Skills and Experience 3-5 years of management experience in a sales/revenue generation environment, including direct experience in profit and loss management and people management Fitness club management experience not required Physical demands include ability to regularly walk through all areas of the club, climbing stairs (where applicable), and bending and lifting (e.g., picking up towels, restacking of weights, moving of equipment as necessary) Must be able to work at least 50 hours per week, or other hours necessitated by business need AED/CPR Certification (preferred) BA or BS degree (preferred) Job Competencies Required To successfully perform in the role, the GM must be able to show demonstrated proficiency in the following leadership competency areas: Ability to develop a high performing team Ability to achieve measurable results Ability to create an environment of mutual respect, trust and accountability In addition, the GM must be able to show demonstrated proficiency in the following job specific competency areas: Ability to drive membership sales Ability to control payroll costs Ability to prevent and resolve conflict Ability to deliver a high level of customer service Ability to plan and organize the work necessary to run a successful club If you share our passion for fitness and serving others, be part of a winning team.general manager, gym, health club, personal trainer Job Posted by ApplicantPro
