Summary: Here at AISIN we are an automotive manufacturer looking for an exceptional machinist that can run and manage the shop. This is currently a one-man shop that supports the company's production 100%. We are a global leading automotive manufacturer of electronic and actuator sensors. Machinist Job Responsibilities: Maintains a safe and clean shop. Operates and maintains lathe, CNC and milling machine. Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production. Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping. Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task. Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment. Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. We are a Monday through Friday shop with some weekend days as needed. We can be flexible in setting up a work schedule that accommodates and supports our production. Most schedules are 8am to 5pm. We are a company that believes and supports continuous learning. We also conduct and provide resources for all training that is required. Machinist Qualifications/Skills: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety Excellent coordination and mechanical skills Solid written and verbal communication skills Proficient in math Basic computer skills Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: High school degree or equivalent Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly Working knowledge of safety protocols Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred Tool and Die work a plus but not required Work Environment: Primary working conditions will be Maintenance shop, office, and manufacturing areas, which requires work with and exposure to hazardous materials and waste. Secondary working conditions may require travel to Japan as well as different training seminars. Some dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane, solvents and occasional heavy lifting. Exposed to hazardous machinery and/or conditions that could result in injury up to and including a fatality if safety measures are not followed and adhered to. Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing areas where under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Industrial lighting provided. Required to drive company equipment.
