Description:
Principle Function The Cashier position may work in the Concessions or Club Areas and is responsible for providing quick and efficient service to customers and a variety of duties relating to cafeteria-style service including cold food preparation, stocking counters and steam table, and maintaining sanitation standards. Essential Responsibilities: Check and stock supplies in counter area, display refrigerators, salad bar, and steam table neatly, accurately, and in a timely fashion as per menu. Inform kitchen staff in a timely manner when food quantities are low or special requests. Clean tables, chairs, equipment and utensils. Keep counter and floor in work or service area clean and free of debris. Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and explain same to customers accurately. Demonstrate complete understanding of department policies and procedures. Relay relevant comments received from customers directly to supervisor. Comply with sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and/or dining areas. Greet customers and take their orders. May communicate orders to cook or punch keys of register that records the order and computes the amount of the bill. Serve hot and cold drinks. Pick up food items from serving bar or storage area. Check orders to ensure that guest is receiving a complete and correct order. Collect payment from guest and makes change. Conform to the regulations of the alcohol beverage authority Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations. Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time. Qualifications/Skills Required: High school diploma or equivalent. TIPS or TEAM trained or equivalent 18 years old or older Demonstrated ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions. Must work well in a team environment. Ability to work independently and in a high stress, fast paced environment. Ability to follow oral and written direction. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used by guests who typically visit the work location. Other Requirements: Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours in length and have the ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees. Must be able to work in extremes of cold to heat. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to meet the following requirements with reasonable accommodation: While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and carry approximately 20 feet Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth () of a mile and the circumference of the unit several times a day Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus While performing duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat Employee must be able to perform repetitive motions The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold Employee must be able to work in a cold environment such as when cleaning walk-in refrigerators The noise level is usually moderate to high The employee frequently has hands in soapy water and/or cleaning and sanitizing chemicals Employee must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Employee must be able to operate in an environment with moderate noise Employee must have the ability to walk with non-skid shoes at all times.
