Engine Rebuild Technician

Second Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM PRIMARY PURPOSE: Diagnose and repair/rebuild Class 8 Truck engines, according to OEM guidelines with minimal supervision. Why Housby? EXPECTATIONS: Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain equipment by performing inspections identify work and/or damaged parts Diagnose and repair engines according to OEM guidelines. Make recommendations of repairs needed to Manager to provide estimate. Perform repairs within given timelines. Repairs and time must be accounted for by properly documenting the steps taken for correction of customer complaint. Repairs that will possibly be paid by warranty, parts must be saved and tagged with the work order number and placed in the warranty room. Use shop provided tools as per intended use. Should a tool be lost or broken, report this to management immediately. Properly dispose of any fluids. Keep work area clean before and during engine repairs. Clean work bay when repairs are complete. Follow general safety rules for each job. Ear/eye protection, leather boots, safety cages, etc. Must supply tools to make job as efficient as possible Document detailed repairs performed on each repair order via computer. Complete continuing education courses. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE : Diesel engine experience and/or medium duty gas engines. Training on multiple different classes of trucks CDL is preferred. (Company will assist employee to comply.) Possess strong attention to detail. Ability to ready and comprehend instructions and information. General computer skills highly desired. Must follow and have Housby's Core Values EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED. Some college courses are preferred. Willing to continue education as directed a plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Ability to view computer monitor. Alpha/numeric keyboarding. Ability to lift up to 2550 pound. Standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, walking, and reaching for long periods of time. WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical, vibrations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud. Works indoors and out. Exposed to outside weather. COMPENSATION: Very competitive pay $18.00 - $30.00 an hour.
