OVERVIEW OF JOB DUTIES: (See detailed Job Description for additional information and requirements)Performs routine and minor repairs and preventative maintenance on RFTA buses and automotive equipment. These tasksinclude removing, repairing, and replacing parts and components, as necessary, while using tools and equipment in a safe andprofessional manner.JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:1. Solid knowledge of electrical systems, air systems, chassis & suspension, HVAC, diesel engines & transmissions;2. Solid knowledge of operating theory, failure diagnosis, repair, & preventive maintenance practices common to buses &heavy vehicles;3. Solid skills working with common mechanic hand tools, pneumatic tools & diagnostic equipment;4. Solid knowledge of OSHA & safe working practices & procedures;5. Solid ability to read, to understand, and to use: maintenance, repair & parts manuals, computer-based maintenanceinformation systems, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, service updates & troubleshooting guides; and6. Basic knowledge of electrical & gas welding.QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License and be able to obtain a ColoradoCommercial Driver's License - Class B with a P2 Permit within two (2) weeks of employment.Basic ability to read, write, and understand English for safety, training, certification, and documentation purposes.High school education or equivalent knowledge to perform job successfully.Competent in the use of computers and data entry ability.Basic ability to read, write, and understand English for safety, training, certification, and documentation purposes.Training and certifications necessary to perform RFTA job duties.WORK SCHEDULE & LOCATION: Must be available and willing to work any shift within any 24-hour period on anyday of the week. Must be available and willing to work either at RFTA's Glenwood Springs Maintenance Facility and/orat RFTA's Aspen Maintenance Facility. Initial assignment will likely be at the Aspen Maintenance Facility.STARTING BASE SALARY: Salary Range at midpoint is $24.02 to a maximum of $28.02 per hour, based upon level ofknowledge, skills, experience, and certifications received to date.
