After School Childcare Teacher Assistant/Aide

Essential Duties : Supervises children's play and projects; Assists Lead Teacher with implementation of appropriate early childhood education experiences; Prepares needed materials and supplies; Oversees playground and other activities to ensure safety at all times; Assists lead teacher with activities; Prepares classroom and snack materials; Maintains a neat and organized classroom; Reports to Lead Teacher any problem which may occur with the children; Observes, records, and reports on the behavior of individual children as required; Performs related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :Must be physically, mentally and emotionally able to provide responsible care for children; able to provide a warm and engaging presence around children; must be able to relate well to children; must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with St. Anne's-Belfield School's ASEP program and philosophy; submit to and pass any necessary/required criminal background checks. Education : High school degree required. Experience : One year of previous professional childcare experience preferred. Special Requirements :Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Physical Conditions :Must be physically able to lift a minimum of forty (40) pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
