We are currently recruiting for an experienced cook to join our team. This is a part-time position, approximately 20-25 hours weekly, M-F. Duties & Responsibilities: As a cook your main job function is to prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for all the residents in the living facility as well as for visiting guests of the residents (as needed). This position typically works in the kitchen and dining room but may also include cooking a meal to a bed-bound patient. May also prepare special meals as needed with opportunity to exhibit creativity.Create menus in line with the nutritional needs and desires of our residents while adhering to any dietary requirements as established by the resident's nutritionists and doctors.Keep records of what you serve to the residents, their dining schedules and the operations of the kitchen facility.Meet all federal and state health department standards and codes for proper food storage, handling and preparation, keeping the kitchen and work stations clean at all times.Assist with the purchasing and/or inventory of food items to ensure proper quantities are on hand and that the items are based on resident demand and dietary needs. Qualifications :Shall be at least 21 years of age.Shall be eligible to work in the U.S.Shall be in good physical health as determined by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test for TB clearance, performed by a licensed physician not more than six (6) months prior to or seven (7) days after employment. Must be able to lift/carry/push up to 50 lbs.Shall have experience as a cook with preference working in a healthcare, residential and/or group home environment.Knowledge of basic food service and safe handling of food. Must possess a Food Handler Card (FHC).Have verifiable employment references as to character and responsibility.Shall be a high school graduate or possess a GED. Preferred certificate or associate degree from a community college in culinary arts, cooking or another related field.Must be able to successfully pass a background check to include but not limited to previous employment, criminal, and verification of certifications.Must be able to work a flexible schedule if required based upon resident and business needs.Certified 1st Aid & CPR.
