The City of Birmingham, MI (EOE) is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Streets/Sewer/Water (SSW) Operator in the Department of Public Services. Under supervision of the Streets/Sewer/Water Foreman, this entry-level position performs maintenance and operation of public infrastructure . Work includes outdoor physical labor and operation of various types of equipment; including dump trucks, snow plows, and light construction equipment. Candidates must be able to operate equipment with knowledge of safety procedures, and exercise good judgement. Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties related to a work project; assists other crew personnel as required and assigned. Successful candidate expected to be available for incidental overtime related to the mitigation of snow and ice hazards on roads and other infrastructure-related emergencies.
