Steady year-round work FamilyCulture SummaryThe Assistant Project Manager (APM) or Estimator is responsible for estimating the work of projects. They appraise work by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. In addition, the project labor, material, and time requirements in order to be able to compute the overall cost of the job.Role and Responsibilities: Explores documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of the project requirements. Maintains CRM Software, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. Conducts effective customer follow-ups. Participates in pre and post-bid meetings as required. Maintains client relations by being the lead contact of proposal for client. Works with the Foreperson to plan, organize, and direct construction activities. Prepares budgets for labor and materials. Prepares project documentation. Identifies any budget issues to the Project Manager. Prepares and tracks change order requests. Manages project performance data and formulate progress reports. Selects, measures, and tracks important metrics. Visits sites, warehouses, and other venues necessary to do the estimate. Performs complex analysis of collected data and metrics. Prepares relevant and reliable forecasts. Conducts complex risk analysis activities. Creates and presents reports to upper management. Analyzes and evaluates offers. Builds and maintains long-term relationships with the key vendors. Any other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or 5 years' experience in construction or similar industry. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings. Experience using Bluebeam or another estimating software, BIM 360, eSub, MS Project. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Extensive knowledge of OHSA Rules. In-depth knowledge of project management. Hands-on experience with complex data research activities. Strong understanding of data analysis methods and KPIs. Good time-management skills; ability to multi-task. Critical-thinker and problem-solver. Physical Requirements/Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical: Stamina, manual dexterity, and good vision are essential to this role. The ability to climb ladders, work off ladders, and be within ladder weight restrictions is required. Must be able to regularly lift and/or pull up to 50 lbs. Dress Code: For safety purposes, must wear well-fitting work pants/jeans and an assigned Optiline shirt. Sturdy steel toe boots/sneakers and any necessary safety gear on-site are required. Must be clean-shaven (a requirement for respirator use), well-groomed and hygienic. Environment: The job functions are primarily carried out at off-site locations at residential homes and commercial properties. The noise level is usually moderate, but loud equipment and construction type sounds occur. This position also requires the employee to be in the Company office and/or at the Client office(s) for various meetings.
