Description:
CAD/CAM Design Technician: The CAD/CAM Design Technicians coordinate with the Foreman in developing and adjusting forecasts for contract, work task, and work team workloads. They support the processes to ensure materials are available to support mission priorities. They infrequently participate in formal and informal meetings to support planning, forecasting, and ordering. Required Qualifications : Minimum of associate degree in CAD/CAM, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical certifications. K nowledge of fabrication machinery, tools, and equipment to include CNC - driven machines, 3D printing, laser cutting/engraving; and ae rospace, automotive, or construction design / fabrica tion techniques and standards. Two years minimum work experience in: a design/manufacturing environment using CAD/CAM software to create industry standard technical drawings , ill ustrations, and bill of ma terials; independently planning and accomplishing complete projects of broad scope and complexity or serving as an expert in CAD/CAM or related engineering; devising creative approaches to accomplish work, resolving design and operational problems, and mak ing decisions in situations where standard engineering methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicable; preparing designs and specifications for various complex components or systems; planning approaches to solve design problems; conceiving and r ecommending new design techniques; resolving design problems with contract or Government personnel; assuring compatibility of design(s) with other parts of the system(s);designing and coordinating test set - ups, experiments and prototypes to prove or dispro ve the feasibility of preliminary designs; using untried and untested measurement techniques; Improving the performance of the equipment, components and systems; advising equipment, component and system users on redesigns to solve unique operational defici encies; arranging for fabrication of pilot models and prototypes and determining test procedures and designs of special test equipment.
