Position Summary: The Associate Dean is a salary-exempt position and is accountable for 24/7/365 coverage and seamless operations of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. The Associate Dean participates in activities that positively promote the program, School, and the College and abides by the mandates set by the Office of Academic Affairs. The primary goal is to facilitate student success in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and to prepare students for success in post-graduate employment. The Associate Dean functions in a coordinated effort with academic leadership, the program faculty, the program advisory board, and student constituents. Responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the program and the best academic diagnostic medical sonography practice through careful adherence to regulations pertaining to diagnostic medical sonography, accreditation standards, and professional standards. Networking with community and professional leaders is necessary to keep the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program current and to facilitate success in the profession for students and faculty. The Associate Dean ensures that the mission of the program is consistently upheld, policies and procedures are developed, reviewed, and revised, the systematic evaluation plan is current and relevant, the curriculum is consistently evaluated and updated as necessary, and support and guidance to students are consistently provided, the record-keeping system is established and maintained, and a leadership role is maintained in all program functions.
