Your Accountabilities: Performs rigging of the part onto hoist to lift and set on the mag particle fixture and applies mag particle material, safely, accurately, and timely. Performs mag particle testing and validates to ensure customer specifications and quality goals are met. Performs visual inspections of the parts, marking defect areas and communicates with welding team for appropriate repairs. Performs grinding activities to clear casting defects based on testing validation. Performs recordkeeping activities within the ERP system to accurately track inspection findings and repairs. Position Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; may consider equivalent course work with proven experience for the right individual. Experience: 2+ years' experience within a heavy industry manufacturing environment with prior Mag Particle Inspection & Testing experience needed. Certification(s): Ability to obtain Level 1 & 2 Certification in MPI Functional Skills: Ability to learn and/or have good knowledge of defect recognition along with an ability to handle and operate heavy equipment; high attention to detail with an ability to visually inspect parts, find and mark defects as well as read and understand documents, procedures and specifications. This role also requires strong prioritization skills, as well as an ability to multi-task and problem-solve issues in a fast-paced environment to meet output goals. Language Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills. Other Important Information: Pay Programs: Pay is commensurate with proven expertise! Reports To: Production Supervisor Shift: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Typical Work Week: M-F; weekends required; 48+ hours a week Work Conditions: Ability to stand for up to 8+ hours in one session Ability to use hands and fingers to operate/grasp hand inspection tools/equipment and machinery as needed throughout the day The employee is regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise. The employee is regularly required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment such as metatarsal steel-toed shoes, face shield, helmet, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear plugs. The employee is frequently exposed moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, or airborne particles. The environmental climate is heated in the winter and hot in the summer.
