Job Description: Technical Writer Pay Range Commensurate with Industry Experience Schedule Typically Monday through Friday and additional days as needed Overview The Technical Writer is responsible for writing, editing, and developing technical pursuits for large scale heavy civil design build projects. Regular Job Duties Write, edit, coordinate, and produce technical design build proposals for large scale heavy civil design build projects Work closely with SMEs and technical experts, interviewing to gather information and write initial proposal drafts Review past material to develop proof-based writing that supports strategy and key messages Creating and conveying technical material in concise and effective manner for both technical and non-technical audiences Providing edits and re-writes of technical material submitted by consultants and technical personnel Manage and prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Business, Journalism, or industry-specific relevant degree (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, etc.) Five (5) or more years of experience in technical writing, proposals, or similar, considered a plus Experience in the construction industry considered a plus Must have excellent technical writing and editing skills High level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers The Statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and levels of work performed by employees, but are not a complete list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
