Architectural Project Manager

Description:

The Architectural Project Manager (APM) serves as a product and feasibility resource for the Account Management Team, and the Estimates Team, ensuring that pricing and design details are accurately captured in the project scope and documentation. They liaison with the internal Design Team to implement client's design intent and provide internal project management for custom and large-scale projects. APM's also coordinate with on-site general contractors and installers to resolve on-site issues, and draft and maintain standard operating procedures for all major functions within the design process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Internal Timeline Management Assists the Design Team in reviewing and scheduling custom and large-scale projects to meet client expectations and deadlines Coordinates large-scale projects with the Production Team to meet targeted ship dates Creates and manages project timelines for custom projects requiring Product Development Team involvement Schedules and hosts weekly project meetings Pre-Sales Technical Support Supports Account Managers by advising on any/all aspects of a project, including product selection, connection details, timelines, and mock-ups. Answers technical questions via Slack, Email and Phone to Account Managers, Reps and Installers Presents solutions to clients and sales reps Conducts Scope Development calls with Account Managers and Reps and reports on findings to internal team during meetings such as the Initial Project Review (IPR) Meetings Monitors and reviews the fast-tracked orders Post-Sales Site Coordination Answers incoming inquiries from GC's and installers for immediate, on-site questions Coordinates field visits and site fixes Tracks and investigates all product or warranty related recuts, documenting the cause of and solution to the issue. Reports Quality Related Records Weekly - hosts quality forum to uncover root causes and corrective actions General Support Provides coverage for other Architectural Project Managers during times of PTO for workload balancing Assists Manager of Architectural Project Management as needed with items such as, Hosting meetings such as the Initial Project Review (IPR) Meetings, the Account Management & Production Calls, and the Engineering and Production Call Maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents Supervisory Responsibilities: None Travel: 5-10% Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to prioritize and multi-task for maximum efficiency without sacrificing accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Professional and pleasant phone manner to service incoming and outgoing calls Proficiency using computers and software Excellent organizational and time management skills High proficiency with MS Office Suite and general computer functions Experience with NetSuite, Rhino, and AutoCAD a plus Know how to read a floor plan, RCP; understand and use commercial construction terms Education and/or Experience Bachelor of Arts in Architecture or Interior Design (preferred but not required) Minimum 3 years work experience in commercial architecture or commercial interior design Comfortable in fast-paced work environment where processes are still evolving and are updated as needed depending on business requirements Physical and Mental Demands The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions with standard level of noise common to an office environment including office equipment and co-workers speaking to each other and on phones. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment when entering the floor of manufacturing facilities based on the specific requirements of each location. Location & Reporting: This position works out of the Firehouse (Chicago office) and reports to the Manager of Arch Project Management. This is a full-time, salaried position and exempt from overtime pay. Occasionally requires lifting 10-20lbs, could accommodate wheelchair, non-walker.
