Capital Equipment Engineer Combustion Rentals & Rapid Execution Job Summary The Capital Equipment Engineer is considered the lead for design and construction of capital equipment needs for the Combustion Rentals asset fleet. The CEE is responsible for ownership of equipment design, fabrication, and documentation to produce quality combustion equipment to support the evolving needs of the Combustion Rentals asset fleet. Duties include facilitating internal equipment design, coordination of internal and outsourced resources, management of scope/schedule, documentation of developed equipment, and transfer of finished equipment to Combustion Rentals asset fleet. Job Description/Duties Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand equipment development gaps and opportunities. Facilitate discussions leading to finalization of equipment design parameters and conditions for development. Assist management in development of AFEs for corporate approval on expenditures for new equipment, including but not limited to, outlining detailed equipment scope and budgeted costs for equipment. Generate project schedule(s) for related new equipment with emphasis on targeted "Ready for Service" date. Serve as project lead driving design/development tasks and fabrication of new equipment assets. Coordinate with internal resources (i.e. drafting, supply chain, etc.) to release necessary tasks for project deliverables (i.e. drawings, data packages, bill of material, etc.). Interact with internal Zeeco Drafting or outside contractor(s) to provide necessary information (redlines) to construct drawing package for internal review/approval. Utilize available project information and drawing package to source fabrication with external fabricators. Complete RFQ (request for quote) process, negotiate pricing/scope, and determine best choice to release equipment to. Duplicate RFQ process and selection for ancillary equipment as needed (e.g. control system). Interact with Supply Chain to select and organize free-issue materials to be provided to vendor(s) to complete build. Coordinate with Purchasing group to select, source, and buy necessary items/materials/instruments to be supplied to vendor(s). Manage all functions above and track progress against project schedule to monitor impact on "Ready for Service" completion milestone. Coordinate all internal/external/commercial correspondence related to project execution. To include necessary communication between Zeeco internal departments, outside consultants, suppliers/vendors, or any other relevant stakeholders. Interface with Administrative group to release and transmit information both internally and to outside stakeholders as required. Maintain constant communication with Applications and Project Engineering group to stay current on commodity pricing, fabrication/shop labor, scheduling, customer requirements, etc. Maintain constant communication with Fleet Team on current equipment design needs, considerations for effective business use of assets, and ways to continually improve Zeeco's reputation as the world's Premier Combustion Rentals Company. Coordinate with Accounting regarding management of internal cash flow and working capital as related to efficient production of new equipment assets. Maintain constant communication with internal stakeholders throughout project lifecycle. Information to be shared includes project status updates, schedule assessments and impacts, and any other pertinent information needed to ensure an efficient and effective project delivery. Responsible for creation and publishing of all pertinent equipment documentation, including but not limited to, operation manuals, required maintenance practices, required storage practices, and installation recommendations. Exhibit initiative to foster an understanding of all new and existing equipment assets to serve as subject matter expert on capital equipment. Facilitate transfer of finished equipment and documentation to Fleet Team and provide instruction/training as needed on design, documentation, intended maintenance/storage practices. Participate in discussions with Zeeco Global Field Services and/or customer to facilitate understanding of equipment design, installation considerations, and any other equipment-related information as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned/required. All points identified above applicable to modification of existing assets when considered as standalone projects dependent on magnitude of scope. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Preferred: Mechanical, Industrial, MET, Constr. Mgmt.) or equivalent background as justified.Must be willing to serve in a hybrid role as lead of both design and fabrication disciplines while operating as an independent member of the larger team.Prefer experience (related) in any of the below: Manufacturing environment R&D environment Internship relating to project management, manufacturing, continuous improvement, etc. OEM sales/fabrication Universal project management Above can be excluded if provided with equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be proficient in standard personal computer skills and professional correspondence.
