Department: Programs Reports to: Managing Executive Director FLSA Status: Exempt Position Status : Regular, Full-Time Position Summary: The Behavioral Health Program Manager is responsible for running the Behavioral Health program of the Sophia Way (TSW). This position is responsible for providing clinical services to a wide range of individuals and families. The Behavioral Health Program Manager collaborates closely with other Sophia Way Programs staff and is essential to the Sophia Way's mission. Essential duties include, but are not limited to: Lead training and establish MH programming Complete initial diagnostic assessments on all patients assigned to determine treatment needs, as well as conduct ongoing assessments to determine when clinical goals have been achieved and service delivery is no longer indicated Develop and implement initial treatment plans and update treatment plans to include age-appropriate clinical interventions/objectives/goals that are observable and measurable Follow-up with identified individuals and/or emergency medical professionals and social service providers. Advocate on behalf of individuals and caregivers and ensure smooth transition and engagement with services. Focus on long-term support, beyond initial diversion from the Criminal Justice System. Maintain confidential client records for direct services in adherence to applicable procedures including HIPAA privacy rules. Work collaboratively with internal and external resources to cultivate and establish positive and effective working relationships. Provide support and crisis management services as needed or as requested by the supervisor Prepare and maintain all required treatment records, documentation, and reports in the electronic records Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment Encourage patients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, helping them to develop insight into themselves or their relationships Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, or tests Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including federal- and state-mandated forms, client diagnostic records, and progress notes Counsel clients or patients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition, based on a review of client information (e.g. suicide risks, etc) Act as client advocates to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations Modify treatment activities or approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients' status Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs on clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary Gather information about community mental health needs or resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy Supervise other counselors, social service staff, assistants, or graduate students Plan or conduct programs to prevent substance abuse or improve community health or counseling services Close all charts within forty-eight (48) hours by the end of the week; as required by contacted funding sources: including assessments, progress notes, and billing Abides by organization's policies and procedures and Behavioral Health Department Policies and Procedures Attend on-site/off-site community engagement activities and on-site/off-site clinic events as needed Perform other duties as assigned to support TSW Mission, Vision, and Values Organizational & Supervisory Responsibilities: Maintains a thorough understanding of TSW organizational policies, including employee handbook; follows policies and leads by example. Works closely with direct reports to plan, guide, and execute professional development plans and opportunities; sets clear, achievable, and measurable goals for individual performance and provides frequent and constructive feedback; holds staff accountable to selves, team, and organization. Non-essential duties: Assists with other organizational activities as directed. Supervision Received: Position reports to the Chief Programs Officer Supervision Exercised: Behavioral Health Specialist Educational Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work or other related field and LMHC or LCSW in good standing in the State of Washington required. Position Qualifications: Proven experience in successfully managing teams, including the ability to set and achieve individual as well as departmental goals, and to mentor and manage the performance of all team members. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and create effective and engaged cross-team alignments. Demonstrated familiarity with standard office administrative practices and procedures, including the proficient use of standard office equipment and general records management principles and practices. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with superior Excel skills. Demonstrated aptitude for interpreting and implementing policies and procedures; ability to analyze and resolve office administrative and procedural challenges. Demonstrated ability to learn, understand, and utilize computer applications related to the organization, including HMIS? Outstanding self-motivation and independence in carrying out responsibilities Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy. Ability to take initiative and use independent judgment within established policy and procedural guidelines. Strategizing and prioritizing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, relationship-building, and communication skills - both written and verbal - which transcend diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to provide consistent, high-quality professional services to a wide variety of internal and external constituents. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional demeanor, especially while working in a fast-paced environment of constant demands and frequent interruptions. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution. Deep knowledge, appreciation for, and understanding of the Sophia Way's mission, vision, and programs. Ability to embody the community-oriented spirit of the Sophia Way to both internal and external constituents. Compensation : Starts at $90,000; benefits include paid sick leave for all staff, paid PTO for full- and part-time staff, and we pay employee premiums for medical/dental/vision plans for full-time staff. Covid-19: Proof of vaccination needed upon employment. If unvaccinated, weekly tests will need to be turned in to HR department. Physical Requirements: Long periods of being in a stationary position; operating a computer and other office equipment; frequently moving to/from various work areas, including TSW's office and shelter locations; occasionally ascending/descending stairs; frequently communicating by phone and email; frequently remaining in a stationary position during meetings, discerning meeting content, expressing oneself, and exchange accurate information; frequently moving to/from off-site meeting and/or event locations; occasionally moves supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
