Beginning as a marine coatings company, Main has grown into a multi-craft industry leader. Main now specializes in marine and industrial coatings as well as a variety of marine and industrial scaffolding. Main is hiring for a full-time Tank Cleaner: A tank cleaner will possess the knowledge and ability to set up and handle vacuum hoses inside tanks and bilges on ships to facilitate the removal of debris or spent abrasive material.Setting up vacuum hoses from the vacuum producer to the area being cleaned may require that hoses be run over long distances (500'). These 3"-4" diameter hoses are used generally to vacuum spent abrasives from the tanks after they have been blasted.The work is sometimes performed in confined spaces.PPE is essential to the safety of the worker performing this type of work. At times the tanks will be pneumatically blown down to facilitate the removal of dust and debris. Eye and hearing protection are a must when this work is being done. Job Type: Full-time, hourly Required experience: Understand and obey all posted warning, caution, notification and/or hazards signs posted on a job site All candidates must submit to drug testing and E-Verification of their right to work in the US Reliable transportation a must Adherence to Safety and Quality Standards are a must Must be physically able to board large vessels via stairs or ladder while carrying necessary tools No overtime is guaranteed, but some projects do require overtime. This could be more than 40 hours during the normal Monday through Friday work week, work on the weekends or both.
