We are seeking a creative, skilled, and efficient CAD Designer to join the team. In this role, the CAD Designer will work with the team to set up and produce workable 2D and/or 3D files for use in programing our CNC Timber Joinery Machine. Whether its producing detailed drawings, framing designs, or creating assembly procedures, the CAD Designer is working hard to ensure the project has all it needs to succeed. To flourish in this position, the CAD Designer must be able to communicate effectively and have an extensive background in the construction/scenic design industry. About the Position CAD Designers are responsible for creating and designing Timber Construction drawings to support our Project Manager/s and clients with their projects. You create 2D and 3D technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD system such as Revit, CADWorks, and AutoCAD). CAD Designers must have strong knowledge of the technology designs, software management, engineering standards, and the construction industry fundamentals. CAD designers label their works with appropriate dimensions and specifications, performing necessary adjustments to meet the clients' needs. A CAD Designer requires excellent critical-thinking and analytical skills to manage design structures and creative solutions. You are expected to apply experience and knowledge to provide solutions when guidelines will not meet expected outcomes and be able to recommend new and/or improvements to documentation where needed. Principle Duties and Responsibilities 3D modelling in Revit and/or CADwork and/or Autocad with hsbcad plug-in Design coordination with external teams of Architects, Engineers, and Designers Prototyping and development of Revit Families Create, revise, detail, and complete sets of 2D drawings and schedules for coordination, fabrication, and installation Abide by and develop standards for structural connections, Revit families, and documenting processes Communicate clearly through drawings, RFI's, emails, teams' messages Collect and provide project information to meet project deadlines Checking parts and converting to CNC files Identify and propose concepts and processes to improve quality and efficiency Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Revit or Cadwork or AutoCAD with hsbcad plug-in preferred Know or be able to understand the construction industry Capable to decipher construction drawings and specs Ability to understand and communicate technical design information Strong verbal and written communication skills Detail oriented in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service skills Basic knowledge of computer skills such as MS Word, MS Excel, and basic computer hardware items Reliable and prompt with attendance and deadlines Maintain a professional manner under stress Great time management skills Great problem-solving skills Professional with a positive attitude Self-motivated and confident Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Some travel may be required Education and Experience: Minimum 2-year AutoCAD 2D & 3D experience Minimum 2-year Revit experience Key Details: Competitive Compensation Package Benefits and 401K are comprehensive and one of the best programs in the industry.
