A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN INVENTORY BUYER In this position, you are vital to the operations of our company. You obtain each line of products in accordance with our established and approved departmental and company procedures. Each day, you keep track of our current inventory and place both replenishment and special orders as needed for our stock and customer requirements. You negotiate with suppliers on pricing, terms, and rebates related to existing and new product offerings. When you put in orders, you make adjustments as necessary to ensure that you are within budget. After orders are made, you file receipts and watch over the tracking. If anything is past-due, you follow up with the supplier to inquire about the shipping. Additionally, you expedite orders as necessary to prevent stockouts. QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN INVENTORY BUYER Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Analytics) OR a minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a data-driven environment Buying and Inventory management experience Strong attention to detail and solid follow-up skills Sound computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Pivot tables/V-Look Up) Knowledge of ERP systems, planning tools, and evaluating data analytics Excellent customer service skills Can you manage a variety of tasks effectively? Are you extremely organized? Do you have strong analytical skills? Can you communicate effectively? Are you able to work independently and with others?
